Hi,

Ive noticed that my 2 biggest Neon Tetras both have like a little bump on there tummies.I dont know if its just the food i just gave them or if it could be anything ells i need to look for.

My other 3 smaller Neons looks fine.I presume that they eat less.

Any ideas??

Thx! :D

I had neons with this, does it look like the bump goes to a point, also have the neons lost any red in there stripe like a bleached out colour, are they listless and restless.

Yeah looks like a bump goes to a point.Well every morning i switch on the light they are pale in color but it due to the dark as after about 30 min tehy are brightly colored.

What is this?

nope cant do that as i have 1 tank, will it stay in the tank?can i add more neons lets say these dont make it or does it stay in teh water?

No you can't add amymore fish, it could wipe the whole tank out, my neons wipe my tank out, had to strip it down and sterlise everything and start again, there is no cure for this desease.

So what you are telling me if this is teh case im gonna loose all my fish.

I have Mollies, Platie , pakastanie loach.

Will they also die?

Sadly yes as neon tetra desease can effect alot of fish types, it's just a waiting game if you can't issolate them. Sorry.

Just as i thought all was going fine.

Well i will see tommorow morning if its gone and im not mistaking it for overfeeding then will just take the 2 neons out and put them out of missare.

Thx for help man!!

Watch for the red fading in the stripe, mine started at the tail end, if its like a cyst with a point to it sorry, but i would give them abit longer first.

Just keep a close eye on the fish for other symtoms, and maybe buy a small tank for the neons if you can afford it.

thx man, i have a small tank but no heater, I will check tommorow morning so see if it have gone away as the bump is on there bellys and if not will remove them and humanly get rid of them.

I wanna cry now.

Sorry, been there so no how you feel, you might get away with having no heater if you are in the uk with this heat, a small heater isn't very expensive anyway, good luck.

i feel sorry for you, i hope that its not NTD

how is NTD introduced to a tank?
