I'm planning on getting some neon tetras this weekend for my 55 gallon tank. I want to breed them is there anything that I could do? I'm going to get some driftwood to soften the water. How many neons should I get and should I get them all at once or buy them in pairs? How old do neons have to be to breed? Thanks in advance

I was also wondering what kinds of live foods that I could feed the neons. I was thinking of feeding the neons tetramin and once a monthe feeding them some bloodworms. Is there anything else that would be better but not ot expensive?

I have always been advised not to try to breed Tetras. They are difficult. It's been a long time. I don't really remember why they are hard to do.

Are you sure? Have you done research on breeding them?
It's not at all easy!

However, if you do manage it, you can count yourself one of few who pulled it off.

Good luck! :)
