i bought a nem at weekend, its been fine, just been watching it and it started to deflate and go all grey and small. what that mean? dead?

cant do pics not got the programs to make it small enough to go on this forum! its foot is still holdon on but all the tenticles r like cotton and really grey and about a quater the size????

If the anemone is turning inside out in any way, is leaking fluid, or has turned "foamy" (like a ripped apart foam matress) in appearance, it is likely dead or dying. The most common time for this to happen is when they are first acclimatized, and it is the result of continuous stress. The trigger is the last bit of stress that occurs when the anemone is transferred to a different tank.

do seam to be leaking anything. what d id wihit? can t pllute the ta badly if it is left? bu nt sure if it is dea thou??

what quality, size tank, whats in the tank, what type of nem, how old is the tank, what did it look like in the store and tell us everything else you know about the tank.

That's fine to ask, but do realize that little of that likely has anything to do with the problem.

well if he says that his ammonia is at 1.0 and nitrite at .5 then we will probably assume that there is something definately wrong and that the anemone is probably dying. If not, well we may draw the same conclusions but it may not be entirely as accurate.

Yeah I guess. But most likely it is the condition I have alluded to above; have seen this numerous times in my own tanks and others.

all is ok,it deflated. its what they do,alright now panic is over, thamx for the link and all your help :good: :good:
