i have a 4ft pine sideboard type cabinet

we want to use it as a stand for our 4ft fish tank, fits exactly, no overhangs etc

but we want to make sure the cabinet is solid enough to take weight of tank & water.

any suggestions on how to strengthen the cabinet? :good:

Make thoose drawer fronts into dummy ones by removing the drawer portion.

Include additional top to bottom bracing with metal stantions or wood, int the central babinet area.

If you can stand on that comfortably with no wiggle I would say no reinforcement is necessary if does wiggle or feel uncomfortable I would probably use L bracket in all the corners to strengthen it good luck and be careful.

excellent, advice :good:. only other thing, to watch is, the top sagging. it may not make the stand too unsafe. but it will put stress on the silicone seals around the tank.
