I have my 150 gallon tank up (because my 90 started to leak) and in it right now I have 7 Odessa barbs(I will up that especially with a few more males), 8 Denison barbs (which if I can find the gold variety will add a couple to that group, 4 cory juliis (which i will add to that most likely too and my 12 year old female bristlenose pleco. I would like to add some more fish tot he tank. Perhaps a bit more color. Red is for sure covered by the odessas and the Denisons but would like other colors perhaps maybe. Also wouldnt mind a larger more oval shaped fish even in it or something. It is a 150 gallon tall tank. So I want to also add fish that stay in the top area of the tank more too. So I am just looking for suggestions from eveyrone what they would do or have experience with. I thought about a group of Gold barbs, keyhole cichlids or even angels (which unsure if the odessas would bother them especially if I up the numbers a bit more). I plan to add another bristle nose to it and maybe some rabbit snails (I do have a few nerite snails in the tank) Please anyone give me your thoughts and ideas. Thanks a ton.

P.S. I plan to add more vertical wood to the tank and some higher water plants at surface. Just need to redo my aquarium lid and make one into three lids instead of one big lid.

Hi thats a nice looking tank and a good size too :) what are the dimensions?

My first thoughts for an other bold coloured fish would be some kind of rainbow Boseamani or Turquoise feel like they would fit the tank nicely or you could go for the smaller Neon Blue in a bigger group.

For a centre piece fish some kind of Severum would be nice but not sure how long your tank is? It looks quite tall. As long as its over 4 foot a Rotkiel Severum would be really cool in there - they have such great characters :)

What a beautiful tank! What are you using for substrate?
I use to use sand from Home Depot and loved it but I have wanted black sand for ages so with my 90 leaking I decided to switch to Black Diamond sand from Tractor Supply. It is used as an abrasive for sand blasting. Totally inert. Tons of amazing reviews from people that have used it for years and no issues with bottom feeders like Cory cats and such. So far I love it.
It is also cheap. I paid just shy of 9 bucks a bag for a 50 pound bag. You get the medium size, 20-40 I believe it is called. That is only two bags in my tank which i have not leveled yet and need to. That along with cleaning up the java moss more lol

Nice! I would perhaps plan to under stock slightly just based on the surface area but happy for those rainbows and the sev in there

I will look into them more for sure. Yeah this tank has a sump as well so I do get alot of aeration and filtering thankfully.

I figured it was bdbs, it looks so good! I am between bdbs and red flint sand for my new 125 gallon... Such a difficult decision!!
