ok, being the nerd i am im doing a science project centered around, reefs.

im thinking of going with one of two topics one of them being

1: corals and inverts being used as treatment for illnesses - biomedicine


and i remember there used to be a thread about that sort of stuff but i think it got deleted due to it being severly outdated if i remember?

so if anyone knows of any species of coral or inverts that have that sort of potential itd help :D


i think certain Zoanthids have potential for anti-cancer medication? cant really rememebr
 
There is a variety of sea squirt of the coast of Scotland that has bioluminescent properties, these are being used in cancer research.

Can't remember where I saw this.
 
Some anemones has cytolysin-based immunotoxins that kill cancer cells. Cant tell you which. Sorry

If it's not too late, I should also toss out sea hares in the genus Aplysia - they are used frequently in medical research.
