I currently have a 200 litre tank (About 55 gallon) and i have 2 silver dollas and 2 blue spot gouramis. I have had previous experience with oscars, but would like to add them to this tank. Can anyone tell me if they would be suitable and how many i could have?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

um....oscer? In a 55?
Well.......I once knew someone who had 2 oscers in a 55G.....and both oscers lived over 2 years.........so...I guess you could do ONE if you really wanted.....but I'd advise against it. Plus, oscers eat anything they can fit in their mouth. So once they are fully grown, you can say good-bye to your gouramis. (Either he'd eat them, or kill them from stress.)
I dont know much about the silver dollars.

how many tanks do you have?
you have previously stated that you have an 8x2x2 tank and asked if ocars can go in there, to which you got the answer

Nehehee! I like that smilie :) Me want :) I think 55g is the very minimum size for 1 oscar, but with very few other tankmates.

I have a 8ftx2ftx2ft tank and a 200 litre tank (55 Gallon) plus a cycled quarantine tank which is only a very small 40 litre tank.

If you don't advise oscars, what other fish would be suitable for my tank. If possible i would like a large range of fish that are also large in size.

Any advice would be fantastic.

Thanks

More silver dollars though you idealy should upgrade.

The minnimum tank size for a single oscar is 55 gallons but it should not have tankmates. Maybe re-home the fish you have and get a single oscar instead. I think they'd all be better off that way in the long run anyway.

Ok. Thanks for everyones help. I don't think i will purchase an Oscar, due to i do not want to give my current fish away as they are great!

in the 55 you could add more silver dollars.
You could add more gouramis providing you choose females
you also have a world of tetras open to you.
Though if you want larger fish you're somewhat limited as a 55 can only house certain large fish by themselves and your currently fish may be terrorized by most of the larger fish that would fit.
