Hi,
I would like to add a couple of oscarsm can anyone give me some information and compatability with other fish.

Thanks.
James

Yes i do know that they require a large tank. I have a 8ftx2ftx2ft tank which has been set up for about 8 months and just looking for some advice on fish they are compatible with.

...I have heard that Clown Loaches, Pleco, Bala Sharks should be fine with them.

Can anyone help me out please!!!

Oooh, lucky you!!! I've never had the space to keep anything big. I'd imagine it's mainly a question of finding something that won't fit into their mouths. I've heard large catfish too.

Jack Dempseys, Red Devils, Plecos, Large Catfish, Loaches.. all should be fine.. But remember, anything SMALLER than the oscar will be lunch. so make sure to introduce them all as juveniles or buy large fish if introducing after the oscar. Good luck!!

Mike

Oh and by the way, only add 2 oscars or you will probably have huge wars going on. Ideally, one female and one male. You might even get a breeding pair.

Thanks for all of your time for your replies. Much Appreciated.

Thanks,
James

I will try them today and let everyone know how they get on.

(They will only be in the same tank for about 9 months becuase then i am converting our reception room 4 into a tropical fish aquarium round the walls. I will add pics for anyone who wants to see what it looks like!

Thanks again everyone!

Jacks and red devils frequently are too agressive for an oscar to contend with.
Fire mouths, Green terrors, Texas Cichlids though are fine.
Also pictus or columbian cats
Clown loaches are fine if you can find ones that are large enough to not be eaten.
