Need Plant Info

So I have the Tank listed below (10g) and I would like to add some more plants. Now I have a 18" fluorescent bulb with the nicest bulb I could find (Power-GLO by Hagen). New to lights. I have some various plants. They are the ghetto bulbs that you can buy at petsmart or wall mart. Anywho I want some more because i will be adding some Cherry shrimp and maybe another newt. So i have heard anubus or java fern and I want something that wont take over the tank. Can someone give me some good advise or tips. I have some plant fertilizer I use ever so often. So tips please or help on plants.

Also i heard from someone using Java fern that her leaves were burned by her light being too strong. Anyone know about this. I have some leaves on one of my plants becoming clear. can someone inform me of this.

BTW the plants from wallmart are aponogetons I think. Long stems and leafs at top of water. bloom a long white banana like flower thing

java moss (grows quick but doesn't spread)


Light will never burn leaves unless they are in contact from the heat, or very close in which case they have grown above the water surface. transparent leaves show a sign of defficiency (take a look in my sig).

Dose ferts every week at the most, up to once a day (which is better)
