Hello
Sorry I haven't posted here in a while, but here goes.
I am doing a research project on the Nitrogen Cycle in English, but I can't find some more in depth information (I am relating it to fish, not the soil Nitrogen Cycle). I have the basics now (NH4+ converts to 6H+ and NO2 blah blah) but the questions I still have unanswered are more general biology questions than Nitrogen Cycle Specific.
1. How do bacteria harness energy from breaking down materials?
2. How do bacteria colonize place's like gravel and filter pads?
3. Why does fish Pee become ammonia , when no ammonia is consumed?
4. What is the chemical reaction that converts organic matter into ammonia?
And any information about anaerobic bacteria that convert N03 into N2 or NOx, or any websites that answer these questions would be appreciated too.
