Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into keeping some newts. I am not exactly sure what kind I will be getting, but they were a few inches long and had red along there tails, these are the ones that caught my eye and I would like to get a few.

I would like to start off with 2-3 of them. I have a 10 gal, 20 and a 45 currnetly not being used, what size is best?. I am currently looking for sites that give detailed information about how to setup there tanks and info on there habitats.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, or experience then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

we may have different kinds of newts but I recently put together a newt tank. Go to members aquarium pictures forum and look for cold water pond tank. It might at least give you some ideas.

www.caudata.org. It's like the Holy Bible! So much info on that site! Join the forums too, they're a friendly bunch.

I have 2 CFB newts, check out my profile for the pic! You could keep two of those in that empty 10 gallon... They're the most common newts found in lfs's, around here at least.
