I came home from work today, and my brother tells me, "don't feed your fish for a few days..maybe even a week" WHAT?! he then pursues to tell me that a bratty kid who was there visiting with his mother..who wasn't watching the heathen!!, he dumped a WHOLE bottle of fish food (betta food) into my tropical aquarium!! it contains angelfish, cory cats, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails..etc...it is a 55 gallon aquarium.....

I noticed that ALL Of my fishes bellies are swollen and full! They "scooped" out the food the best they could, what they didn't get, I THINK my filter did a pretty good job of cleaning out! but....there is still quite a bit in my gravel (should I use my gravel vaccum on it?) :dunno: and most importantly, should I be concerned about my fish? I don't want them sick!! Please help me!! :grr:

I would definitely use a vacuum on the gravel. I don't know if your fish will be ok or not. I would keep an eye on them.

The little devil!

Yeah! You'd need to clean your gravel. You don't want any uneaten food rotting and poisoining your fish (if later, they're hungry).

thanks...unfortunately.my algae eater died! :( and our filter was so clogged  so i have been vaccuuming!! ugghhh!! I have NEVER seen such a mess!!
