Hello everyone,I'm new to the aquarium hobby and yesterday I got a beautiful sparkly small fish but I don't know what fish it is and I wish someone can help identify it so I can learn more about it..it's about 4 cm in size and really active and fast swimmer.

There's a lots of fishes looking like sardines like that...

I think it's some kind of Rainbow Fish. Very closely to a Pacific Blue Eye, but... The color are not completely matching.

It's a little skinny, make sure it gets good meals without giving too much.

It's a 'Giant Danio," Devario malabaricus (D. aequipinnatus, in older sources) and should be kept in schools of at least 6. They get large, 4" or so. How big is your tank?

And welcome to the forum. It's a great place to learn about your new hobby.

When you go to buy fish there are several questions you must address first. Is my tank large enough for the fish when it becomes an adult? What degree of water hardness does my fish require? A mismatch will shorten the fish‘s life. Does my fish require 6 to 10 other fish of the same species in order to thrive? If you have a community tank, will your new fish fit into this community? Where will it be a bully or bullied? What temperature range does my fish require in order to thrive? Other members I’m sure we’ll have other ideas.

Looks like a danio to me as well, they feel safe and happy when kept in big groups. How big is your tank?
