I have a newly set up 55 gal saltwater aquarium with several stars, an urchin, an anemonee, and a shrimp with a 4 inch yellow tang.

I have my eye on several fish but i don't think they will get along with the tang.
I had 2 percula clownfish, but both of them died in less than 24 hrs. :-(

Now i am kinda leary of clowns, even though i want some in my tank.

I am open to ALL sugestions and any help.

Here is a list of fish i would LIKE to have:

-ocellaris Clowns
-maroon clown
-regal tang
-foxface lo
-auriga butterfly
-neon goby
-blue dot puffer
-humu picasso trigger

I know i can't have all of these, but i would like to have some of them. I am wishing now i wouldn't have bought the tang, but there isn't anyone near that could take him and i have no choice but keep him( i am from arkansas, and i have to drive an hour to the closest pet store, so i order most of the fish i recieve offline. So...... Please help me with my problem!!!

please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on some fish!

Thanks

I have never kept a saltwater aquarium before but I'll try to help...I do know a bit on the fish though..a bit. Sorry about your clowns :-(
These are the fish I know a bit about:

-maroon clown
These clown fish can get aggressive with their own kind and the other fish in the tank, it is recommended to keep them with fish the similar size. Mated pairs though will live happily together quite peacefully.

-regal tang
This tang can be kept in a small group, you should introduce the shoal together. It is not advisable to keep this fish with invertabrates... They are fairly peaceful fish.

-humu picasso trigger
An intolerant species,it will pick on both it's kind and other fish. Even if they are similar size. Do not keep this fish with invertabrates because it will eat them. This fish really greedy at feeding time...you shouldn't overfeed.

-Yellow Tang
This fish is very territorial, it should not be kept with invertabrates. A large shoal of this fish is less aggressive than a single fish or a small group.

That's all I know about them...sorry.

try posting in the salt water forum , you may get better responses ....good luck [ maybe a mod can move the question for you ]
