I have recently acquired a Black Ghost Knife (about 2 weeks ago). He hasn't been eating a lot, and I have been feeding him premium fish flakes. Recently he has been lying on his side for a significant amount of time and does not respond to other fish, or me, and I am worried that the snails in my tanks might start attacking him soon. I release that they do sleep but this seems to be very different from how he usually sleeps. I have moved him into a hospital tank, where I have added cycle and increased salt levels. He still isn't looking well, and I have noticed that his tail is slightly damaged (I believe from being attacked by small snails). I have 2 angle fish and 12 neon tetras in the tank and it is very well established (like for 1 year). The fish seem to get along very well

Could you please give me suggestions as to what I should do.

Thanks JC

I'm not too sure but I know they do lay on their sides during the day but my Knife fish died just the other day after laying on it's side an awful lot, I think it may have been the whitespot medication i introduced to the tank. It may be the same with the salt you added.

Yeah it could be due to the salt. However I did not add a lot of salt of to my hospital tank, and he started to become sick in my main tank (which I didn't add extra salt to) before I transferred him to the hospital tank. So I'm still not too sure. Thanks for your reply though :)
