i recently bought an aquarium set up all inclusive apart form gravel and plants,i got given this teabag witht the lable "phosphate killer" so i added this into my aquarium with all the chemicals but i did an overdose on the de-chlorinator(is thata problem?)anyways i have emptied the tank no and are starting fresh but i ma wondering if it happens again should i repeat what i did?

An overdose of dechloronator is not harmful to the fish as long as you didn't pour the whole lot in the tank. The phosphate killer you mention are mere scavanger resins to specifically trap and hold phosphates. You cannot overdose with it. A word of caution though. It may be more effective placed in your filter as the final media before the water returns to the tank and depending on the size of your tank and the size of the bag, you may need to remove it when full. A test kit should let you know when the bag is full because the phosphates that have been trapped will be dumped back into the tank.

I agree with what Dragonslair says above - is it caled Green-X by any chance?

Unless you have really high phosphates in your tap water and/or get your water from a borehole, I wouldn't suggest it's necessary.

Leave it out of your filter and only use it if your tanks suffers from green algea problems...
