I posted this previously to Reddit but despite being 100% sure my betta was not a female, the posters couldn't give me any explaination as to what the white spot on my betta's tummy is. It looks exactly like an ovidepositor! Do I have a longfin female, or should I be concerned?

Here are some pics:http://imgur.com/a/xr4ii

I apologive that the image of the white spot is such poor quality. It was an exceedingly difficult image to capture.

Any thoughts? Can anybody show me a good pic of what a longfin female looks like? I'd also like to know if there is any illness that would present itself as a tiny white spot.

Thank you guys!

Hi, your fish is definitely male but as for that white spot I cannot really see it, I have noticed his ventrals look abnormally curled up but that is all I see I would say your fish is healthy though.

Definitely a male fish -- body is 100% male in shape.  There are males that have something that looks like a fake oviposter so that is what might be happening with your boy although it is not really visible from the pics.
