Hello, I apperciate any suggestions you may have for my problem. I upgraded from a 5 gal to a 10 gal. When I upgraded I bought a fairly cheap light off of Amazon it was :

NICREW Full Spectrum Planted LED Aquarium Light, with Timer, for Freshwater Fish Tank, 18-24 Inch, 14 Watts.

I do not know if the setting are off or if I am just doing something wrong. But the algea on the tank walls from the light is out of control. I run it about 4 hours a day. Do you have a better light suggestions? or any suggestions of what I can do to help this problem.

A pic would help if possible. What Substrate? Dose fertilizer? Any Plants?

As for lighting levels, other members will know more than me :)

A light that size, on 4 hours a day, shouldn't be causing an algae bloom. Tell us more about your setup. As Matt said, what are your substrate? Fertilizer? Do you have plants? What is your stocking? How often and how much do you feed? What are your water parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite)?

Algae is usually caused by a nutrient/light imbalance, so the more we know the better we can help you.
