I have probably become a real pest the past few weeks asking all my questions.....but I am still worried about my little Cory so may as well give it another try....

My Sterbas Cory Cat seems to be swimming up to the waters surface and just hovering there...and he seems to be blowing bubbles? I am assuming this is not normal? He had a bacterial skin infection about a week ago which cleared up after treatment and he has been doing much better and seemed to be happy until this? He swims up hovers for about 5 minutes and then swims down finding food in the gravel and then swims up again? When he remains still on the bottom of the tank it appears as if he is having a problem staying down....his tail seems to float up slowly....? His fins are quite beaten up due to being attacked by the other fish when he was ill before I isolated and treated him...but he manages to speed around the tank without trouble when he wants....so I am assuming he is not having problems swimming due to his fins?

My tank size is: 2ft x 1ft x 1ft
My water stats:
Nitrite = 0
Ammonia = 0
PH = 7
Nitrate = 12.5
I have an internal filter with an aeration device on one side of the tank and another small air pump with an airstone on the other.....could there be too strong a current in my tank?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated :)

It is normal behaviour for Corys to periodically swim to the surface and take in air... if they do it excessively, try a water change... as Corys mainly stay at the bottom and this is where all the waste and sh*te will accumulate...

Hi Bogwood...

I have been changing the water quite regularly....at least twice a week and at least 25% sometimes a bit more....? I really don't know what else to do :( Someone mentioned to me that maybe I should repeat the infection treatment....would this not harm him more?
