First of all happy xmas all, I hope you all had a good one.

Ok despite me saying when I bought my tank "I won't be keeping corals" it has got the better of me (cue the "I told you so" from seffieuk) :)

My tank has 2 T5 lights, one blue and one bright white. Will this be enough?

Also what are good corals to start out with, I got a load of vouchers for the lfs for xmas so will be visiting the shop later.

My tank mates currently include:
1 yellow tang
1 bangal cardinal
4 damsels
4 chromis
1 chalk goby
1 cleaner wrasse
1 cleaner shrimp
4 pepermint shrimp
2 hermit crabs
2 clowns
1 purple dottyback
1 anthias

cool thanks, well I did a bit of research before going and the general opinion was that mushroom corals are excellent for beginners soooooooo, there is a nice green one in my tank now.

So you get some growth with 2 t5's, is it better to get more or is that just over kill.

Once the lights come on I will post some pics.

I will see how I go with this one for a while and if everything is ok then start getting some more.

If I could have more lights I would.

I've had decent growth with my lights on mushrooms, riccordeas look great and grow well and trumpets

they are all pretty cheap and easy to get hold of

Most softies will definitely be OK under the lighting that you currently have, but I wouldn't expect amazing growth. Corals are irresistible :p

Here is a pic as promised, more in my journal:
