I want to somehow secure the lid on my 55gal to the tank. I have my 2 rubber eels in there, they are my favorite fish. They are masters at escape, so I want to make it so there is no chance that they can get out. Ideally I want to somehow use magnets to hold the lid to the tank. But I would need some really tiny really strong magnets. This way it would still be easy to take the lid off when I need too. Right now the lid is taped to the tank. If all else fails I am willing to silicon the lid to the tank.......

So any good ideas or suggestions the lid is glass. :D

Thanks,

the tape your using should be fine.

if you are worried the tape could make your tank look bad then you could cover it up with some nice polished wood...............OK WELL NOT EVERY ONE IS A FASHION EXPERT! I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU COULD MAKE IT LOOK BETTER.

If you want to 'tidy' it up you could always silicon 2 small pieces of wood to the side glass to meet the sides of the hood and level with it and then superglue some clasps to this piece of wood and the hood above.

I mean the sort of clasps you find on a hard snooker cue case.

If not so bothered about tidyness then there is always sticky back Velcro.
