Hi

I did my juwel aquarium background today about 2pm using juwel silicone and tonight about 9:30 i dumped my eco compleate into the bottem to see what depth id get case i needed some more and added about 4 inch of water ready for my plants tommrow. I just been reading up on my tank and it says silcone takes 24hrs to dry i think this has had 6 hrs! have I messed my tank up now? will the silicone harm my fish or will it be dry enough?

DUMB ME!!

If its aquarium sealant then it will not harm fish...perhaps it might have to be dry to give a water tight seal

Lower the water level to decrease the pressure on the sealant?

Just a wild a$$ guess.

Not sure what the sealant releases as it cures. You may also want to contact the manufacturer.

Well ive drained the water back into a bucket to keep its only been in the tank about 45min and its got the black amazon water in from eco compleate so did not want to waste it and in that time i cant see much silicone leaching into it. ive also tiped the tank forward so the rest of the water is off the background and ive pulled the substrate forward..... looked at the back of the tank the water is off the silicone now so hopefully will cure by tommrow!

hope it aint killed my eco-compleate though... ive put some bags over it to stop it drying out.
