Need help in finding Ichthyologists in New York.

Hi, i'm a 10th grade student in Westchester County, New York. I've been looking for an Ichthyologist in or near New York to help with mentoring me during the summer, but from the multiple ichthyologists I've emailed none have replied. Could anybody please recommend me some people that I could reach out to? I believe they have to have a PHD.

For a project like this, you would have to go through the institutions, like the AMNH, and see what channels are. The people I know who have gotten into programs like that in my part of the world tended to already have an undergraduate degree.

Ive contacted ichthyologists at a few museums and universities in New York, including Yale in Connecticut but no replies. Most museum and university pages also don't have a page of all their contactable scientists, which makes finding them a lot more difficult. I should start sending messages to the institutions themselves tho asking if they can recommend any people

Does it have to be someone from nearby? Maybe an ichthyologist from further away can mentor your online...?
