need help identifying pleco

i just got off the phone with my dad who, against my advice to buy otos, bought a pleco at petsmart. he claims the tag for it said it grew to be 5 inches max and he didn't exactly remember what is was called "wide-lipped" he said. he did however mention that it looked like one of our common plecos but with a wider body. he doesn't know what it is, and i'm really curious about what he got.
