How much salt should I use in a 55G with 3 tinfoils, 1 mikey mouse, 1 red zebra, and a 20G with 2 pleco, 1 baby ghost knife, 1 clown loach, 1 opaline gourami, 1 upside down catfish, and another 55G with 1 oscar, 1 Jack Dempsey, 1 opaline gourami, 1 pleco? Sorry, 3 questions there...

None in the last 2.

Loaches and catfish are not salt tollerant. For the first one it's one heaped tablespoon of aquarium salt for every 19litres.

What are you putting salt in all you tanks, if I may ask?

Got this wierd disease. Don't know what it is. A salt bath is supose to cure a lot of stuff.

That's not a salt bath. A salt bath is removing the fish from the tank and placing them in a a high concentrate of salt one by one.

All your tanks have it? Perhaps it's due to overstocking? Your 20gall is very overstocked, depending on the type of plec.

What are the symptoms? What are your parameters?

It's not due to overstocking as all of the fish are still juveniles. Symptoms are the fish developes what looks like white spots all over it's body(only the clown loach has had this happen) like ick. Labored breathing, red spots on some of the scales like it's bleeding a little. Lazy fish syndrom. The water parameters have been perfect in eveything but high nitrate. Did 3 water changes this week and still high nitrate.
