Hey,
I am overhauling my 55 gallon tank and I am going to buy a canister filter for it. I am eyeing the RENA XP2, but I was wondering if anybody had any experience with these, or if they could recomend another one. I would prefer to spend under $200 on it. I am planning on making it a community tank with Neons, Danio's, Balas, Barbs etc.
Thanks,
Andrew

Ditch the Bala Shark(s) purely becuase they like groups of 3-5 and your tank isnt really big enough. Then get an Eheim Cannister, something that overfilters the tank, so if you do consider going for larger/messier fish you dont need to then go and buy another filter. So consider maybe Ehieim Classic (if they do one large enough) but probably look at a Pro2 and a powerhead for water movement.

Having just bought a TetraTec external, I can thoroughly recommend those. A doddle to set up (if I can do it, anyone can) and as silent as you could ask for.
