Hi everyone!

Noah and I recently got 2 adorable little pictus. (Are they called 'pims' or 'pictus'? Or is one a subset of another?) We are about ready to get a few more friends for them and I was wondering what type of fish you guys would recommend. I have heard everything from cichlids to large tetras. Pros and cons of each? Types to avoid? We have a 16-gallon tank, don't know if that helps in terms of recommendations.

Also, we were thinking of maybe getting a third pictus. Do you think our current little guys would take on a new comrade of the same species well?

Thanks for your help!

Alison

You could put pretty much anything with Pictus cats. I have 2 Pictus with a convict cichlid and one in with my gouramis. The only problem with pictus cats is that nobody really knows how big they get. They have been known to get from 4 to 10 inches. They will probably outgrow that tank, also another problem is that when they get big they will eat smaller tankmates.
