hi guys :)
i need a bottom dweller for my 80g tank ( see sig)
however i dont want this to be a catfish or a type of loach.
any ideas?

cheers, james

no bottom dwelling fish will stay on the bottom forever.
hmm not a loach or a catfish
how about kribs or rams?

I was thinking kribs, but was also worried about them fighting it out with the rams if you get a mating pair. How about an african wood shrimp or two?

I would go with some shrimp? or maybe a even a frog? I would be worried about the kibs because the chances of finding a mating pair are like 90% lol

I always liked catfish but you need to be carful with what you get as many get huge! yeps...

Corys are catfish.

How about some lovely wood / bamboo shrimp ?
They should be ok with the tetras, but the gourami's might be too large and nippy, so it just depends which tank you're talking about.
Here's mine :fun:

Edit: oops, how did I miss you said it's for your 80 gallon. If so, just check if the shrimp will be ok with the gourami's - I'm not sure.
