So far I've got a cory and a ghost shrimp, I had more of each but they died/disappeared. Are there any other (or better?) fish that could clean up the bottom a bit? Or should I get more of these types?

I'm looking more for an algae eater of some sort, that won't eat the babies when they come out. Are otos safe? Some sort of small pleco? I hate to clean the tank sides a lot because my endlers are so afraid of my hand! My other fish just swim around my arm & nibble at it

Ottos are an option: they eat algae and food on the bottom if they can find it, are small and leave other fish alone. Just remember that they do best in groups and they need oxygen-rich, clean water.

I don't think there's any pleco that will fit in a 10 gal.

i use 1 albino cory for my 1 feet endler tank and there are no problems??Maybe the corys you got are sick. They are very easy to take care and please let the food offered to endlers sink so that the cory can eat it ,or you can overfeed a little so that there are food for the cory/shrimp

my corys dont bother my guppy fry, but dont do much for algae. my ottos do a great job on the akgae and have ignored my platy and molly fry

Thanks :) I'll pick up a few otos then, I have a few in my 20g but they seem to be keeping the algae under control there (don't want it to go crazy in there too).

Ive been having cory trouble in my endler tank, it's weird. I had 3 in my 20g, so I put 1 in the endler's tank & bought him a friend. That friend died, so I got a replacement, he died like 3 weeks later. Ah well, I'll go w/ the otos and maybe a cory, see how that goes.

Thanks for the help :D

I'd go as far as to say the group should be 6 or more. Cories are very social fish and shouldn't be kept alone or in pairs.

I have my Endler's in a 20g and keep Amano Shrimp in with them. They don't bother the fish, or vise versa, They do a great job on the algea and also clean up any leftover food.

That's my recommendation :D
