Contains Aloe Vera and electrolytes to reduce fish stress.

These substances alter the surface tension of water and allow a skimmer to create far more microbubbles than it would normally create. Hence the skimmer "goes nuts".

I would not use this product with or without a skimmer. Why do you want to use it?

How low? Low pH is not the end of the world for most aquarists. Unless you're running an acropora forest, your tank can probably be ok in the 7.9-8.0 range. Does your pH fluctuate from lights on to lights off?
