cherrylt04,
You do not mention in your initial post if there are still any fish in the tank or not!!! Are there???
If not, you do not need to add ANYTHING to kill the ich parasites as they need a fish host to survive.
If there are NO fish currently in the tank then simply turn the heat up to 85 degrees and leave it be for one week making sure the meds are still in the tank.
After the week is up, do a 50% water change, bring the temp back down to it's normal range, add some carbon/charcoal to your filter and you should be good to go. You did remove any carbon/charcoal from your filter prior to starting the treatment correct??
If you have fish still in the tank:
Make sure you followed the directions for treatment period exactly as stated on the package. The day after the treatment period is over do a 50% water change and check to see if survivng fish are free of parasites.
If they are no further treatment is necessary.
I know some believe in a second treatment period, I do not. Medications are rough enough on the fish to begin with, and unless the fish are still showing signs of the parasite should not be given a second dose IMO/E.
