Some of you have read my adventure in the newbies section of my infamous "Spot" CKF and his travels from tank to tank.

He's moving out of the sushi bar into a bigger tank in my home. So I'm left with a really nice 30 gal set up in the sushi bar with a lonely Pleco. I'm interested in a fish that will fit happily in the 30 gal indefinetly, though something big enough to attract attention from customers (Spot was a huge attraction).
I have a gravel substrate, so it can't be something that burrows. Nor do I want something that will stay on the surface where we won't get to see it.
It is not a planted tank, but I have had plants successfully before and can again.
It also doesn't have to be a colorful fish, my CKF isn't colorful but was definetly the star of the show.
My pet store will order in whatever I want (as long as it's legal in Maine), but doesn't hold much for invintory since it's such a small area.
I've been thinking about angels, but they're very common in businesses around here, as are goldfish. We're a unique style of business for this area, so something not so common would be fun.

Suggestions??????

get yourself some rainbowfish. In particular some Glossolepis incisus, Melanotaenia lacustris and M. herbertaxelrodi. They all come from New Guinea but are being bred all over the place. They grow to about 4 inches and will show up well in a planted tank. If you get a couple of pairs of each species they will all hang out together and when they mature and colour up they will look really nice.
