I really want to rescape my 5ft marine tank but to do it how I want it I will need to remove all the corals, fish and inverts along with 70kg of rock out of the tank.

My plan is to set up a temporary holding tank to transfer all the livestock into a holding tank for a couple of says so I can give the display tank a good clean and make a few changes to the equipment that I couldn't do while it was full of water.

The problem is I need to find a cheap container that can hold all of the above (guessing around 60g min, I might be able to put the fish and inverts in the sump tank for a sort time). I'm not sure what to use though. I have been looking for cheap tanks but I think something like a plastic tub would be better (its going to be set up on the floor with two children running about).

Any suggestions on what I could use?

Pity your in kent - Barney, I've just borrowed from work a plastic heavy duty storage bin with interlocking lid for a 20" plec, Convict and anything else I find in my new tank. Just a thought, have you a staples or something like that near you, It may be worth investing in one for future scape changes. Hope that helps :good:

Thanks for that. We do have a staples just up the road from where I work so will have a look into that :)

Not a problem, with kiddies around you don't want to take the risk, with the lid shut they will have something to sit on while watching you work.

A large rubbermaid tub would do I should think.
They sometimes float around on ebay cheap..
