ok, i went up to my room today, where i keep my tanks, and i was lookin at my betta tank, a divided five gallon, and both male betttas were in the same section  . i panicked, but i got out my 1/2 gallon that i had set up if something like that happened and put one in there. i'm gonna redo my divider. but it might take a while, cause i'm having a hard time lookin for the suplies i need, i want to make one out of plexy glass, or plastic, but i don't have the time. i tried searching http://www.drsfostersmith.com for dividers, but nothin came up. can anyone gimmie a link that has dividers for a hexagon five gallon tank?

ya, luckly when i got there, they were just flaring at each other.

i guess ur right, but still... can anyone give me a better way to use a tank divider.

It's probably this one: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...=1&N=2004&Nty=1

Anywho, I'd just suggest making your own. Silicone the report over silders onto either the corners or on the flat sides... I dunno, I think the corners would look more asthetically pleasing (wow... politically correct anyone?!) than on the flat sides. I'm sure you'll be able to find some plastic canvas that will fit in there fine. Just measure the diagonal. You can always go with more than one sheet. It's highly doubtful that they're strong enough to get through the splice.

Let us know how it turns out.

I have had horrible luck with those report binders. The only reliable way I have found is to buy the store bought dividers from the lfs and replace the flimsy grid they give you with craft canvas. Put the store bought rims (I had to cut mine with an electric saw to fit, but maybe you can find some in the right size) on the craft canvas, slip it in the tank after you move the gravel out of the way on the bottom, clip the dividers on to the sides with the clips, run your fingers down the sides and look carefully to make sure there is little to no gaps between the glass and the dividers. Push the gravel back around the dividers, and you have impenetrable fort knoxx.

good luck, and I'm glad the bettas are OK.

ya, i think i am just gonna buy one, or if i can't find one, i'll just buy another 5 gallon tank.

well, i was able to make a divider, it seems to be working, i'm just wating a while to put the other fish in. i want to know if the betta can get through the other side.

ur soo lucky you got there in time!! :D otherwise one of them could of been hurt -_- i hope you sprt it out soon!

well, i finally got it set up, with both bettas on the other side. it's sorta funny, there's this crack like this big: l l (the space between the l's), and they can see each other through it. right now, there fins r as big as possible, and they are at full flare, it's sorta funny to watch. but i got that thing in there really tight, i sorta have a hard time moving, so the bettas should not be able to get to the other side.
