i was reaching around the back of my tank last night when i hit something sharp resulting in this little finger leakage

upon closer inspection i found this !!!

so i emailed nd aquatics who made the tank and asked what i could do to rectify it . now bearing in mind that the 2 year warranty is pretty much up ( in the next day or so) .

i recieved an email back today , and without even trying to question or quibble they have appologised and said that they are going to give me a complete new tank , to the exacts same spec that i originally ordered.

now that is what i call customer service .. well done nd !!! :good:

What a result!! Nice one........shame you had to slice your finger to get it though

yep well pleased , a little bit of leakage was a small price to pay , plus im so clumsy my hands are well and truly used to it by now

just had another email , they are making my new tank and it will be delivered saturday october 9th .

What did they say do with your original tank? Keep it?

James.

good point . they didnt specify. they just said they will replace it . altho i assume they will take it away. which tbh suits me as i dont have space for 2 .

at the bottom where the silicone joint is there is a piece of glass broken at the base of the tank. thats what im holding out with my finger in the second pic .

First of all, OUCH! But its good they didnt quibble and are replacing it :good:

Any idea what could have caused that splinter of glass to come away like that? I assume it hasnt caused the tank to leak at all?

yea that seems a weird one mate congrats on the bran d new tank + you will get an extra 2 year warrenty ;)

That is good to hear, Mark. Pity you had to suffer physical harm though! I have the same 4x2x2 tank from ND as you may remember.

lol wasnt that bad just a little pinprick  as for what could of caused it your guess is as good as mine . at 1st i thought maybe a result of a knock , but i would of expected that to be more like a chip or a crack. this is actualy like a slither of glass that you can kind of pull up like a little flap ?? maybe just a weak spot in that particular piece of glass combined with the pressure of around half a ton of water . the tank is still watertight so no worries while i wait for the replacement .

what impressed me tho was that where some firms would try and wriggle out and shift liability to you m these boys without even asking for proof of purchase etc just said sorry about that , have a new tank . in fact from cutting my finger to having a delivery date arranged was probably around 45 minutes , including taking and emailing photos :good:

yep i remember your posts . at least you can be sure you will get good after sales care if needed

awsome service you should get some stickers and stick them on the old tanks front might put them off from taking it

lol if i had more space id keep the old 1 , but its actualy doing me a favour them taking the old 1 away . what they dont realise tho is that i have decided to take the opportunity to move the tank so as it is more on view , si i will rope him into helping me move the cabinet etc :hey:
