They are very good for that camera! Starting at 14 with a bridge camera should mean you will be taking amazing shots when your are very young...I still had a crappy 35mm point and shoot film camera at 14, and only got a bridge camera at 16.
Could be better if it was on full-manual mode though, shallower depth of field due to larger aperture could look quite nice in some shots (where the main detail of the butterfly/flowers would still be in focus), plus the images would be less noisy since you could have gone for a lower ISO due to the extra light.
If you have issues holding the camera still with slower shutter speeds, try putting it in burst mode and delete and tank a few shots, at least one should come out sharp
.
You would do great with a DSLR! But IMO the best thing to do first would be to learn to use the bridge camera to it's fullest, tbh the older and worse performing the bridge camera the better when it comes to learning, as it will force you to learn how the camera works and use full manual to get the most out of it.
Because until you can use full manual, IMO a DSLR would take great shots for you, but would be somewhat of a waste of money since they are quite expensive (plus not as versatile until you spend more money on different lenses) and a lot of the advantages wouldn't be realised.
