i have a 60l tank currently with a 15w white t8 light in which it came with

i feel this light is really bright and unnatural can anyone recommend a light that is natural but will also bring out the vibrant colours in the fish and thats also not to bright.

i think the flouresencent tube is 18" long

thanks

Theres loads to choose from, only YOU will know what looks "right"

Have a look around the local fish shops... the larger the better, and see if they are using anything you like.
The "standard" freshwater lamp looks too pink to me, so I mix them with a white tube... its a very personal thing.

I also use a pink and daylight combo.

My pink (4500K) makes the tank look like this:

My daylight (6500K) makes the tank look like this:

The 2 together looks like this:

Yeah really depends on taste (if you dont have live plants or corals to worry about), loads to chose from though including LED strips and spot lights which can be combined to give different colour tints.

Maybe a pinky coloured t8 with a couple of blue LEDs to help pick out fish colours would look good?
