Hi, im buying a new tank (215L) for my 2 Black Ghost Knifes, 2 neon tetras, and bristlenose cat (plus more when i get the tank)

I want to keep a theme in the tank, and i want the theme to be around the BGK's.

What type of ornaments, eg. Timber, rock, etc, would be close to their natural environment? Also what sand/gravel do they do well with? Plant types?

Also, any idea for some other tank mates?

Thanks
Mike

The BGK will eat the neons when they are fully grown. Bristlenose will be fine.

Tankmates include:
Spiny eels
polypterus
fire eels
large catfish (synodontis etc.)

No tetras, rasboras or other small characins/cyprinids as they will be eaten.

Yeah i found out about the neons AFTER i bought them...
Oh well, its really the BGK's that are my pride n joy.

Does tank size sound ok? 215L = 57 US GAL

size of tank is 39"L x 18.5"D x 23.5"H

57 gallons is too small for BGK's. Very too small in fact.

Ideally You want a tank with a 2ft width and depth to keep BGKs properly. You should probably look into getting a 4x2x2 aquarium which would happily house a BGK and a few other medium-large fish.

Ok, well i went and cancelled my order on the 57GAL tank.
I am now getting a 75Gal US tank.

Thanks for the info

Mike, if you want to keep bkg's you should at least be upwards of 100 gallons, like bunji said, 4x2x2 I think that's more like 120 gallons right? Sorry, don't mean to be harsh. Just trying to help.

Well 75Gallons is better, what kind of width is it?

You can always get an even bigger tank in the future right! :p
