Name This Pleco

ok so my brother dumped his fish tank on me and left me with several fish i am unsure of.
i thought at first this guy was a clown pleco and his behavior is close to what is described, however he has gone months without any wood in the tank, and surviving on flakes my mom and i have been feeding it. he is quite shy and i didn't even realize he was still alive until i removed the pirate ship.

can you pleco experts confirm or deny my theory into what this fish is, and suggest ways of maybe coaxing him out of hiding a bit more. if this is normal behavior i will leave him be.

looks like a clown pleco, i have 2 and they are very shy.you wont see this fella often im afraid. get some bog wood though, they need to rasp on it, helps them digest food too.

as the above said and a chunky little one as well by looks of it
good fish to keep quite bolshy with other plecs
memory serves me right they prefer a green diet courgette etc

chunky really? i wonder what he has been eating?
anyways that means he is in good health right? he is a cutie when her comes out, and if he chunky that means he had been eating something.
apparently there is a lot more i need to learn about this little guy.
