hi im looking for advice on my mystery snails egg sac, they've laid lots of eggs but I'm not getting any luck with babies. I've tried incubating the eggs and leaving them but my female lays them to close to the lights and they dry out even if I spray them to keep them moist. Nothing works and I would love any advice to help as I would love to have baby snails one day.
Thanks

Can I just check the country you live in, please. If it is anywhere in the EU (including the UK) it is illegal to allow the eggs to hatch, they must be destroyed.

But anywhere else in the world, it is quite acceptable to allow them to hatch.

Thanks, ive just read the defra info for Scotland and sent them an email as its confusing, it only mentions the cana and malculata( not sure i spelled that correctly) its fine anyway I haven't had any babies and won't bother.
Thank you again

It is every species of apple snail in the genus Pomacaea - there are several species all of which are covered by the legislation. The import of them into and the spreading of them within the EU has been illegal for a few years. It is legal to keep the ones you already had when the law came into effect but the eggs have to be destroyed by freezing.

The last paragraph in this article https://planthealthportal.defra.gov...macea-Defra-Plant-Pest-Factsheet-revised3.pdf explains defra's (England & Wales) understanding of the EU law.

Just didn't want you to unknowingly do something illegal - if you'd succeeded in breeding them and tried to sell them, you could have had problems.

Seriously I'd rather know, I haven't had any luck so that's probably been for the best. Thank you
