Mystery Snails Breeding

they dont need a partner to reproduce. they can do it all by them selfs. they lay eggs above the water on the sides of your tanks. look for a 1"by 1" oval like cluster of pink eggs.

Actually, they do need a partner to reproduce. Out of the commonly-kept freshwater snails, they are the only ones who are neither self-fertilizing nor hermaphrodites. You need to have males and females. Everything else you said is correct though.

Incorrect afishdude, please make sure your information is correct before giving it out. :/

Mystery snails have seperate sexes and need at least one of each sex to reproduce.

"This family of snails is different from other aquatic snails in its breeding habits. They are not hermaphrodites; they show both male and female individuals within the species. Males can be identified by looking for a penile sheath inside the shell. This houses the male reproductive organ. It can be harder to distinguish in smaller snails. If you hope to breed your mystery snails choose at least 6 individuals and the odds of buying both sexes will be favourable."

Hope that helps,
