hello,

today as i was maintainning my aquarium, i took my bogwood
out to clean it in hot water and with a scraper, to take of
the algae.

i was just cleaning it when i saw these orangy yellow eggs on the bottom!
my first thought was they were eggs, but as i thought of it
that was not probable.
my fish are:
2 kribensis couple
4 swordtail male/ 3 female
1 bn plec no idea on gender
2 oto cats
and i had 3 amano shrimp but they all jumped out of tank, prob cuz of little aeration.
and i had a opaline gourami couple but female died, i bought another yesterday thought it
was a female, but was a male and is being niped and bullied by my first opaline, ill take
it back today
and i bought 2 plants as well yesterday

i think all my fish are too young to mate, but the kribensis have been around the bogwood alot....
and maybe its parasite eggs?
plz help!

are you sure

if you b/n as no bristles its probably
a female if its no that then it could be
the kribs how old are the fish or
how long have you had them in your tank

Probably Kribs or a BN female laid those.

Unless he has had the BN pleco for a very short time where the female was already gravid, I doubt it was the BN. I think it may have been the kribs :hey:

If you haven't boiled the eggs already, I would add them back to the tank and see what happpens :good:

They look like Krib eggs to me, Kribs will breed quite young

the eggs were about as big as a small piece of gravel is.
anyways, I thought they were parasite eggs when i saw them,
so i tried taking them off with my finger, and they
dissipated on touch. to late

my bn plec is the size of a oto cat, so REALLY young...

ive had my tank for 3 months now, IDK how old kribs are...

I tried taking out bogwood a couple minutes ago, and kribs
got very stressed, so eggs prob. are of kribs...

really, im just concerened that eggs were not parasitic or
similar, but if they were of kribs, i feel bad :S

too bad i didnt get fry, :X

yeah, my kribs are losing colour, they are stressed.
the male used to have a black stripe on him, not anymore.
how can I cheer them up?

Not a lot you can do as they have lost their eggs, being their first batch they most likely would have not raised them first time around. Just watch for the female bullying the male though, she may "blame" him. They will most likely spawn again in a couple of weeks or so, watch for the female's belly going really red and her bending towards the male :good:

There not much you can do to 'spice up their life'
ummm, you could feed them live foods? :X :S

I dont own any live foods, so I cant give them any.
but anyways, how much do live foods cost? and
do i have to keep them in conditions, like in a refrigerator?
or can I just keep them in a tub in a cabinet?
the female krib seems to be ignoring the male, giving him the "cold shoulder"
and I was thinking of buying a fish soon... would it be too stressful for the kribs
if i put in new fish?
