i have posted on here about my zebra danio which i think has dropsy, it has had a huge belly for ages ive tried treatment for weeks now and no sign of it getting any better it seems to be happy enough though what will i do with it???
In my experience of dropsy i've not had a fish last more than a week and you say you've been treating for weeks. Just wondering if it is actually dropsy or just a greedy fish
Maybe its full of eggs? I don't have danios so can't really help you, sorry
I'd try not feeding them for a few day's and giving them a few pea's which act's as a sort of fish laxative, they could very we'll just be bloated.
My fish are quite greedy, two in particular who will race around the tank when i feed them and seem to eat most of the food before the other fish get there So, every now and again this is what i have to do.
If they have no other sign's of infection, i'd give this a try.
Danio's are extremely greedy and I suspect this is your only problem. A fish with dropsy would not last this long. As they swim near the surface, danio's are among the 1st to feed, try cutting back on the food a bit.
well guys you are right he/she is experiencing very big belly and has done for weeks! does anyone know how long they can keep eggs in belly???
how often you meant to feed tropical fish? i do know some info but you get told so much different!
