This may not be an emergency, but I'm afraid it could turn into one so I'm going to try and get some help before that happens. My tiger barb is usually pretty darned active - swimming with my zebra danios and such. Today I first noticed something was wrong when he wasn't very interested in food. He sort of swam by it and looked at it, but I'm not sure if he did eat anything. He's usually a pig. Now he's just hanging out in the same corner and not doing anything. His nose is pointed slightly downwards. He's not breathing heavily and doesn't show any other signs, but he's not right. I don't know if I should do anything. I'm positive something's wrong, I just don't know what. I can't really add salt to my tank because I have 2 corys in there, and I don't have a hospital tank, unfortunately. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated, thanks guys.

Edit: I forgot to say this - so I figure I better so I don't get these types of suggestions, hehe. I did check my water params immediately and everything is a-ok.

If all the weter parameters are ok then that should put that aside. I had the same behaviour with some of my fish about a week ago and he was not eating, staying in one position and not moving. After I relized that other fish where picking on him, and his fins where being bitten, so after I put him in a hospital tank and now he is recovering well. Just a thought and the only thing I can think of. Or it may just even be a temporary thing, he just so happens not to move when your there.
