This is important.

Usually lights that come with tanks are not strong enough for plants. It depends on what the answer is to the above question. Usually though ripping out the current fixture in the hood and wiring in a double sided socket and using spiral compacts is the cheapest way to get more lighting.

I dont know about the specs cos there is nothing written on it and its a haleia tank
Im no good with DIY so id need like a dummies guide to it, the plants were fine untill the bulb blew.
