Well, the cycle has been going for a few days now and this morning i added 2 black mozaic platies to help with the cycle process.... Yes i know its potentially cruel but you can't blame me for not wanting an empty tank :p

Well, its a 5 gallon moby dick... 15x8x12 inches with inbuilt powered filter, light & heater.

I have 1 silk plant and the other 2 are plastic. The hollow log is ceramic and the little cave is plastic with a couple of little plastic plants on it - looks real nice and only cost £1.50

well... here it is!

What do you guys think? :)

looks nice. could use some more plants and maybe a background?

lets see some shots of the fish :D

Is this your first tank?? I think it look great, well done, what fish are you thinking of getting, I started with a 5 gal, now a snail tank, ive got a 25 gal and a 10 gal and ive run out of room, new tank planned for june, gotta be a biggun this time

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

Fishyfeet - Yeh this is my first proper tank, i had a goldfish bowl when i was about 5 but i hardly call that owning fish!

Many_a_molly - Do you think it needs more plants? I don't want it too clutered! And i really don't like backgrounds i think they look taccy, i'd rather put real plants behind it lol :)

I will post some shots of the fish when i take some good enough ones :p

well the 2 platies seem to be getting on much better this evening... or should i say morning lol, not chasing each other too much and not hanging around the top of the tank as much which is great.

I bought some of those tetra 5in1 strips & an pH tester and the levels seem pretty stable and the pH is good.

I'm very happy so far, give it another few days and time to start researching new fishy additions to the tank :D

Oh and i'll post some pics of the platies when i have taken some pics i am happy with.
