my tank is turning orange

i have a 30 gallon tank and my gravel and rocks are starting to turn orange.....nothing like this has ever happened before and im not doing anything different....im concerned about my fish

is it colored gravel? cause the out side stuff will peal off.

I might be stupid, but I think it's possibly rust. Where did you get your rocks? If you got them from your backyard or something, that might be why. My friend had the same problem and he just washed them off and it was fine.

If it is even moderately old, then it would just be caused by the accumulation of detritus right underneath the orange spots. I suppose there might be some orange spots in my tank as well, but they are more brown than orange...

Are you feeding colour-enhancing food? Perhaps with high levels of carotene? If you had very porous rocks over time this COULD effect them, though unlikely.
