My Tank And Fish

Okay so today i noticed a crack in the fish bowl so i have switched my betta to a plastic tub thingy

Here it is. Sorry its a little pic its not as blurry when its little. Today at the pet store I got gravel, a plant and a cave thingy =D​

I will be getting a new tank soon. I was thinking of a 10 gallon?

A 10 would be a great thing for your betta. He would definitely enjoy the room. It will also give you the chance to give him some company without too much crowding. I have one in a 40 with some platties and he is in heaven. He didn't swim much when I first got him out of that little cup but after a while he figured out how to use the whole tank.

what other fish can i put with him for company? Ya i will be getting a 10 gallon soon

Wow! 10 gallons would be great! You could even divide it once or even twice to keep up to 3 males in the same 10 gallon, or you could divide it in half and have 3-5 gallons for him and 5-7 gallons for a sorority! Just make sure that if you do this they can't see one another, lol. But either way, a 10 gallon is a fantastic idea. Just be sure to cycle it before you do anything. Good luck!

As to other tank mates, a couple ottos, corys, a snail, a pleco (just be careful which species as some get HUGE, lol), rasboras, danios (or minnows as some call them, i.e. Cloud Mountain Minnow), a dojo loach, and I've even heard of people keeping Yoyo loaches with them, but I'm not certain as to their compatability, Oldman47 has Platys which are not recommended with bettas so it really depends on your individual fish's temperament.

Your guy looks great btw, a little clumping in the fins, but that should change as he settles in and de-stresses.

The pleco can get up to 24 inches. There are a couple that are smaller but I have never seen them,. I have been looking for the pitbull pleco

Danios and White Cloud Mountain Minoows are different fish. Whereas (so I hear) WCMMs are OK with bettas, danios can be a problem because they are very fast... also i think danios are generally better off in 20G upwards for swimming space.

There are smaller plecs available, not sure if any are small enough for 10G though?

I've got one infact planning on getting another verrrry soon!
My local maidenhead is the only place i've seen them though!
