So what you think???????

i think the steriliser would be better on a closed loop personally, ideally from the first chamber.

is that a sponge at the end of the pump? Or is it a pipe?

Do you plan on a skimmer?

Wheres the macro algae?

Other than that is well done.

well it means your pump will have to work harder

also it will kill anything beneficial going up from the sump to the main tank

No the sponde is to stop the pump vibrating! it is a pipe faceing down tho..

Yes it goo to late skimmer is tomorows job

Macro algea on its way from ebay....

Thanks :D please tell me any more things i can do to inprove or you would change?

It will only kill the small things it can kill, larger stuff such as pods should be able to survive the trip. They are not THAT genocidal.

Wers the best place to get the best from my uv? how shud i plum it?
You should push the cleanest water you can through the UV, to prevent anything going onto the inside of the unit. I always have UV units attached to the return pipes of all my sumps.

I thort this was right! because i rember reading someware that you shud use the outlet of the a filter! and its at the end of my sump=filter..

Tho its ture about the pump doing more work! tho i am no genie....

So whats to say? leave it on the return line! or move it?

Yeah, if your goal is to culture pods to feed a mandarin, than a UV sterilizer is not for you. If your goal is to keep pathogens at bay long enough for fish's immune systems to kill them, running UV off your return pump is a great idea. Only concern is the flowrate... It might be better to tee it off the return pump line as UV sterilizers (especially small ones) usually require lower flows to get enough dwell time to actually kill stuff.

HAHA you lost me on the " culture pods to feed a mandarin" "pathogens at bay long enough for fish's immune systems to kill them"

I was just useing it to kill algae.... lol

If the algae is free floating, it may die (but would be eaten by marine organisms in the live rock as well), but if its not free floating, that UV isnt gonna do much.
