My Stingrays Are Coming In On Thursday!

As some of you may know I've been waiting for a long time to get some stingrays for my new tank. Well I just placed an order for 2 females and 1 male hystrix stingrays. I plan on breeding them when they get older. When they arrive they will be between 3 and 5 inches. I can't wait!

Yes, the stingrays will be going into the 6x2x2 foot tank, it is in fact a little larger because it is bowfront and where the tank is widest it is about 6 foot 5 inches. The only tankmates that they will have is 20 tetras (temperarily) that were used to cycle the tank. My friend has just started up a 35 gallon tank and I am going to see if she wants them. I will take some pictures of the set up now and then I will upload them.

Here are the pictures, I know they are not great, but I will take more tonight when the reflection isn't as bad. Anyway here they are:

The site that I am buying from guarantees that the stingrays will arrive alive and stay alive for 7 days so that is great. I will start them on blackworms, and then try feeding them other things. Does anybody have any advice?

Can you post a picture of the end of the tank? So looking the length of it; as I still can't see how it's 2' high and 2' wide at the ends...

Also what will you do with the rays when they outgrow the tank?

no way that is a 6x2x2 more like 6'x15"(at widest point)x2'

I must admit my skepticism that the height is equal to or less than the depth of that tank.

How about posting a pic of the ends with a tape measure against the tank so all us doubters can be proved wrong?

Nice setup! watch it tho, cuz you may want to convert from sand to small pea gravel as the sand will stick to the rays.

I will post pictures of the tank side tommorow so that you can all see that the side is a perfect square and that it is the same height as it is from front to back.
